Poppy BH (b.1994) is a self taught artist based between London and Ireland. With a tendency to start working small using pen and oil pastels, she creates miniature drawings and sketches and then uses these as a basis for larger paintings and ceramic sculptures. Drawing on pop artists such as Claes Oldenburg, as well as more contemporary artists like Hockney and Quentin Blake, her subject matter is primarily focused on depicting familiar everyday objects or scenes in a childlike and playful way, and this is often achieved through compositions that play on the imagination or her use strong colours and linework.
